Cadence Capsules Honest Review

Cadence Capsules Set

As someone who takes their skin and haircare routine seriously, even on the road, I never gamble that a hotel will have decent toiletries, so I always pack my own. However, I’m also a carry-on-only type of traveler, which means I need a fool-proof way to pack all my products that will keep everything organized and prevent any leaks (while still meeting the TSA’s 3-1-1 rule.)

Plastic travel-sized bottles have been the standard for years, but Cadence Capsule has changed the game with its beautifully designed refillable capsules. Read on for our honest review of Cadence Capsules.

What are Cadence Capsules?

Cadence capsules are hexagonal-shaped containers with screw-on lids that you can fill with liquids, gels, pills, small jewelry, and more for travel. The capsules are magnetic, so they will stick together, and feature magnetic labels so you can see what’s inside each one at a glance. I previously owned the original Cadence Capsules, and recently tested out the brand’s latest version, with The Discovery Set.

Cadence Capsules Discovery Set Review

Cadence Capsules Parcel

The Discovery Set includes three small capsules, three medium capsules, one medium parcel, and six capsule labels (pill, sun, blank, shampoo, conditioner, and moisturizer). The parcel itself is a standout. It’s a clear, TSA-approved one-quart bag with a clever magnetic closure instead of a zipper, which helps keep everything neatly in place. If you have two parcels, they even snap together magnetically and transform into flat trays—perfect for doing skincare or makeup on a cramped hotel sink. I also love that the bag can be easily wiped clean or hand washed after inevitable spills, and it fits far more than the six included capsules, leaving room for extra toiletries.

The capsules are equally well thought out. The wide-mouth design makes them much easier to fill than traditional travel-size bottles, especially when dealing with thick creams or deep conditioners. particularly like the wide mouth design that makes these much easier to fill (especially with deep conditioners or thick creams) than traditional travel-size bottles. The lids are completely leakproof, and I haven’t had any issues with spills. The magnetic lids are genius, and has definitely decreased the amount of times I’ve accidentally dropped a toiletry container lid onto the floor of a hotel bathroom.

I also tested The Spatula, a flat-edged magnetic dipper that I highly recommend for more sanitary product transfer, whether you’re refilling the capsules or using the product directly. I paired it with The Adapters set, which includes clear plastic tops that snap onto the medium capsules to create different dispensing options—pour, drip, and splash. These are especially useful for products like body wash, face wash, shampoo, oils, and toners, and make the system feel even more customizable for your routine.
