Venty Fan Review: A Lifesaver for Travel

Venty Clip Fan

I recently took a summer trip to Europe, where I realized at the last minute that many of the hotels I booked did not have air conditioning. I ordered multiple travel fans from Amazon to test out, and eventually settled on the Venty Clip Fan because it was the most powerful portable fan.

However, there are plenty of pros and cons you should know about before purchasing the Venty Clip Fan. This is my honest review.

Venty Portable Clip Fan: Overall Review

Venty Fan from the back

I tried the Venty Portable Clip Fan out side by side against a number of top-rated travel fans. Although it was the most expensive one I tried, it was also the strongest and felt like it would cool me off the best. It also had the longest battery life.

The Venty fan worked extremely well on my European trip. Since the Venty fan does not automatically convert voltage, I plugged it into a powerbank to charge it each morning so it was fully charged at night. Then I charged the powerbank, and left the fan plugged into it at night in case it needed extra juice. Since the Venty fan uses USB-c, I could use my existing battery pack. If you’re traveling somewhere with standard voltage (like within the United States), you could plug the fan into the wall and run it forever.

The fan lasted all night long, even though I ran it on the highest fan speed. Depending on my hotel room configuration, I would put the fan on my nightstand, or clip it to the headboard to get the fan even closer to me.

The oscillating feature is a nice touch that I didn’t find in any other travel fans, and the light at the base was nice for nighttime.

However, this was one of the least packable travel fans that I tested. The head of the fan can be swiveled back and forth to make packing a bit easier, but it’s still pretty bulky and takes up a decent amount of room in a suitcase. If your number one priority is staying cool though, I recommend this fan.

Since coming home, I’ve used the fan quite a bit more than I expected. I use it instead of turning on the air conditioning to save money, or I’ll take it out on my patio to keep mosquitos away. The fan did come with a wall mount if you wanted to use it at home, but I prefer to keep it portable.

Pros

Venty Fan controls
  • Powerful fan speed
  • Rotates
  • Can be clipped to headboard or table
  • Easy to change fan speed, oscillation, or light with the touch of a button
  • Light at base with five settings
  • Five fan speed settings
  • Oscillating fan option
  • Battery actually lasts for 10 hours
  • USB-C charging
  • Small size for such a powerful fan
  • Option to add aromatherapy pod
  • Charges quickly
  • 360-degree rotation and 90-degree tilt
  • Weighs less than 1 lb.

Cons

Venty Fan lying down
  • Does not fold down for travel and is bulky to pack in a suitcase
  • Will need to use a voltage converter if you’re traveling to Europe unless you charge it off a battery pack

Final Verdict

Venty fan pivot

The Venty Clip Fan is the best travel fan if you’re looking for maximum cooling power and the longest lasting battery. If you’re willing to sacrifice a bit of fan speed and battery life for packability, there are certainly smaller and cheaper fans out there.

Price and Where to Buy

The Venty Clip Fan costs $59.99, but frequently goes on sale on Amazon. I got mine for $49.99.

Venty Clip Fan Dupes

The other travel fans that I tested out were:

  • Koonie Portable Desk Fan: The second strongest, quietest and one of the most portable fans I tested. However, the battery life on the highest speed wasn’t great.
  • Nitecore NEF10: Way too big and not any more powerful than some of the smaller fans, however, the tripod feature was nice.
  • JISULIFE Handheld Fan: The best small travel fan, this one packs down to fit in a purse and can be worn around your neck, used as a handheld fan while walking, and has a foldable stand so you can put it on a desk or nightstand. This fan was surprisingly powerful for its small size.
  • JISULIFE Desk Fan Battery: This was also one of the strongest fans that I tested and had a good battery life. It folds down flat for easy packing, but has a stand that can prop it up on a desk or nightstand.
  • Vornado FIT Personal Air Circulator Fan: Powerful, but somewhat bulky for packing.
