Pretty much every flight I’ve taken from the East Coast of the US to Europe has been an overnight flight, and arriving super early in the morning local time (and feeling like it’s the middle of the night back home) after sitting upright, struggling to force myself to sleep in economy just sets me up for a miserable first few days of my trip. Traveling in JetBlue’s recently refreshed Mint Suites changed that, making it feel like I’d spent the night in my own private flying hotel room.
JetBlue is making a big transatlantic push with a new Boston to Milan route and upgraded Mint Suites on select flights. I was on the inaugural Boston-Milan flight and tested the Mint Suites in both directions aboard an Airbus A321 Long Range, which is configured with just 24 Mint Suites for a private jet-like feel in the front cabin.

Route Details: The Boston to Milan route runs daily through October 5, 2026. To celebrate the launch, limited one-way introductory fares are available starting at $2,199 in Mint.
Ground Experience
The premium perks start before you even board. There’s a dedicated Mint check-in queue and access to priority security to skip the usual lines. After landing, your checked bags will come out first at baggage claim, so you can get out of the airport faster.
JetBlue doesn’t currently have a lounge at Boston Logan International Airport, but Mint passengers won’t be waiting long — the airline plans to open a BlueHouse lounge there in mid-2026, following the one that debuted at New York’s JFK last year.
The Mint Suite
Once on board, I was shocked at how spacious the suites were. Each one has both window and aisle access, so you don’t have to choose between a great view and being able to get up without bothering anyone. There’s a ton of room, along with plenty of handy compartments to keep everything organized, including a dedicated cupholder, a pivoting tray table, a secure laptop compartment, a foot bench with storage underneath, and even a small dedicated compartment just for your shoes. The only real downside is having to put your personal item in the overhead bin during takeoff and landing, since there’s no under-seat storage due to the seat design.

The 17″ TV pulls out from the wall and can be angled in a bunch of different ways, making it comfortable to watch whether you’re lying down, reclining, or sitting upright. There were also plenty of charging ports (including wireless charging) and customizable mood lighting to set the vibe.

The seats convert to a fully flat 6’8″ bed (when combined with the foot bench) for a really comfortable night’s sleep. Each suite comes with a Tuft & Needle lightweight blanket that doubles as a sleep sack, which is great for wearing while watching TV, along with a full pillow. I appreciated that the bedding was already waiting in my suite when I boarded, so there was no need to flag down a flight attendant when I was ready to pass out.
What I didn’t notice at first was that the suites have sliding doors for total privacy. I really appreciated that the flight attendant closed them while I was sleeping, so I wouldn’t be disturbed, and while they were at it, they even left snacks for me in case I was hungry when I woke up. I’ve always thought that JetBlue’s flight crew is one of the friendliest in the airline industry, and the Mint team really took it to another level.
Onboard Amenities

Each Mint passenger receives a custom toiletry kit in a Caraa pouch that converts into a travel backpack, which is a smart touch since you can use it as an extra day bag or to haul back souvenirs. Inside you’ll find Dr. Dennis Gross skincare, socks, an eye mask, earplugs, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a deodorant wipe — everything you need to feel human when you land.
On my plane, there were two dedicated bathrooms for the Mint cabin, so there was never a wait to freshen up.
In-Flight Food & Drink

My flight from Boston to Milan was overnight, and I had a busy schedule once I landed, so my goal was to get as much sleep as possible. It was nice that you could order your meals (both dinner and breakfast) before takeoff on your seatback screen and opt to delay them if you’re not going to be hungry right away. There’s also a choice of a Savor & Sleep menu, which will be served quickly if you want to go to sleep soon, and the option to let the crew know you’re skipping the meal and don’t want to be disturbed. It was also nice that every seat had a bottle of water already in the cupholder, so you didn’t have to wait for drink service.

JetBlue has a partnership with New York City’s famous PDT (Please Don’t Tell) bar for freshly shaken cocktails onboard. I rarely drink on planes since the dehydration just makes everything worse, so I was really glad JetBlue had a zero-proof cocktail list too. I had the Mint (Under One) Condition, made with seltzer, ginger, lime, cucumber, and mint, and it was incredibly refreshing. And when it was time to wake up, the cold brew from Brooklyn Roasting was exactly what I needed. You can also opt for a to-go breakfast bag instead of a full meal service, which is convenient if you want to sleep until the last possible minute. If you do drink, the cocktail menu was extensive, and there was a great wine list too, including sparkling and orange wines.

In-Flight Entertainment & Connectivity
WiFi is completely free for the whole flight and worked really well. JetBlue had a ton of movies and entertainment options as well as live TV, and you can watch it all using the cushy, noise-isolating Master & Dynamic headphones provided. There were also meditation and sleepscapes loaded onto the system, which were nice to help me fall asleep. When you are ready to completely zone out, there’s a do-not-disturb button you can press so no one interrupts your rest.
The Verdict: Is JetBlue Mint Worth It to Europe?
Normally, I’m basically a zombie after getting off an overnight flight from the US to Europe, but I felt surprisingly good after getting a solid six hours of sleep on my flight from Boston to Milan. Being able to lie flat made such a huge difference, and staying hydrated (and then caffeinated) meant I actually landed feeling ready to start my trip. On the way back, I stayed more awake, but it was great to stretch out, get work done, relax and watch TV, and lie down and nap when I got tired. I’d say it’s absolutely worth the money.
