Location
The Kearsarge Inn has a convenient location in downtown North Conway. It’s right across the street from the popular Vito Marcello Italian Bistro and right by the scenic Conway Railroad. The inn is on a quiet side street, so you won’t hear too much street noise staying here.
Rooms

We booked a “Select Room” and were assigned Room 101. Unfortunately, I had two of the worst nights’ sleep of my life in this room. It’s located on the first floor, right next to the main entrance, with an external door that has a built-in window. This window lets in a significant amount of light, with streetlights shining through at night and the sun streaming in early in the morning. Although there was a curtain, it was flimsy and did little to block the light.
The queen-sized bed was extremely uncomfortable. The sheets had noticeable stains—likely from laundry detergent—and the mattress had a deep sag in the middle, causing my wife and I to roll into each other all night. It was old, worn out, and provided little support.
Another issue was the heating. The room’s only heat source was a gas fireplace next to the bed, which was difficult to regulate, making the room either unbearably hot or freezing cold.

That said, the room itself was quite charming and clean. Despite being the smallest room in the inn, it felt spacious and included a mini fridge, a small couch, and a large bathroom. It was also decorated in a Tuckerman Ravine theme, adding to its character.
A variety of more expensive room types, including suites with king beds, are available at the inn, and perhaps those are more comfortable.
Restaurants
There is no on-site dining at the Kearsarge Inn. In the morning, a Keuring machine was available in the lobby for coffee. The inn is within a few minutes’ walk to a number of restaurants, so not having dining on site wasn’t an issue.
Parking
The Kearsarge Inn offers free parking, and we didn’t have any issues finding a spot when we were staying there.
Pets
The hotel allows pets in certain rooms for $30 per pet per night.
Price
We paid $153 per night for a weekend stay in winter and found the best rate on Booking.com.
