Located within select Hyatt hotels, Hyatt club lounges are a (somewhat) secret VIP section with free food and lounge space featuring complimentary breakfast, snacks, lounge space, and even evening treats. But while these perks sound appealing, they often come with a hefty price tag or require elite Globalist status through the World of Hyatt program.
So, is paying extra for Hyatt Club access actually worth it—or is it just an expensive convenience? After staying in several Hyatt club-level rooms around the world, we’re breaking down the real value, what to expect from the experience, and whether it’s worth the upgrade for your next trip.
Hyatt Club Level Amenities
Amenities within Hyatt club lounges vary quite a bit between properties, but generally include:
- Continental breakfast
- Light bites throughout the day
- Evening dessert buffet
- Bottled water and sodas
- Coffee machines
- Lounge space
- Complimentary newspapers
Honest Review
The Hyatt club lounges I’ve accessed generally put out small buffets of food, with trays of hot food available at certain times, and light snacks (such as fruit, chips, yogurt, etc.) available to grab-and-go throughout the day.
I was honestly a bit put off by the food that had been sitting out buffet style (and potentially picked over by other guests) so stuck to packaged items. It was great being able to grab Greek yogurts, bottled waters, and bananas throughout my stay for healthy snacks or breakfasts.
It’s worth noting that although alcohol is available in most club lounges, it is an extra cost.
The lounge spaces tend to be large and on the top floor of the hotel, offering lots of comfortable space outside of your room to hang out or get some work done.
However, if you tend to spend most of your time outside of your room, and want to explore the local culinary scene, the club level is definitely not worth paying extra for.
Hyatt Club Access Award
World of Hyatt members can earn club access awards and redeem them to access a hotel’s club lounge for a stay of up to seven consecutive nights. These rewards can also be transferred to a friend. Out of all the Milestone Rewards available, I’d say the club access is one of the least valuable for leisure travel and you may want to consider redeeming your rewards for something else.
However, if you’ll be doing a lot of business or working remotely and don’t want to leave the hotel (especially if it’s in an isolated location), the club access can be a good option.
Hyatt Club Level Cost
Hyatt club access cost varies by property. As an example, the San Francisco Hyatt cost for a standard king room is $225 per night. A similar room with club access costs $362 per night, adding on an extra $137 per night. I think many people would be hard pressed to eat over $100 in food each day in the club level.
