Quince Expandable Large Checked Bag Review: The Suitcase I Took on a Month-Long Trip

Quince Expandable Large Check-In Suitcase

I’m normally a die-hard carry-on only traveler, but even I’ll admit that some trips require checking a bag. And if you’re going to give in and check luggage, you might as well make it count with a larger suitcase, rather than one that’s just slightly larger than a carry-on.

I tested Quince’s Expandable Large Check-In Suitcase, which is the perfect size for a longer trip—spacious enough to fit everything without being overstuffed, but not so big that you can’t comfortably wheel it around the airport. Quince says it fits up to two weeks’ worth of clothing, but with the expandable feature, I easily had enough space for a month-long trip. Here’s my honest review.

Overview

Quince Expandable Large Check-In Suitcase

This ultra-lightweight checked bag meets size requirements for virtually all airlines—including budget carriers. I was surprised that even on Jetstar, an airline that’s notorious for its stingy luggage allowances, it was way under the checked bag size limit.

The suitcase is made from a durable polycarbonate shell that keeps the weight down without sacrificing sturdiness, and I was surprised at how lightweight it felt despite the large size.

I got the dark green color, and it’s stunning—it looks like much more expensive luggage than it actually is. For the price, I was surprised at how many high-end features were included, like multiple interior compartments, a removable laundry bag, and a compression panel with a zippered pocket.

Dimensions & Capacity

Quince has a lot of options for checked bags, so it was hard for me to decide which one to get. I opted for the largest one since I was taking it on a long trip, and I recommend it if you’re traveling for two weeks or more. If you want to check a bag, but don’t want something too big, I would recommend sizing down to the Expandable Medium Suitcase, which is still generous in size but easier to maneuver around.

No matter the size, I strongly recommend choosing the expandable version. When zipped normally, it matches the non-expandable dimensions, but unzipping the expansion adds nearly two inches of depth—making the bag far more versatile. If you have any of Quince’s carry-ons, they will nest neatly inside the expandable large suitcase, so you can save storage space at home.
